obama on a number of issues. key points, including hot spots is syria, libya, egypt. he's expected to talk about having a strong military without cuts to defense, and israel being a strong ally of the united states. specifically on libya, he will say that al qaeda was behind the deaths of our ambassador and three others there, that it was the deliberate work of terrorists -- that's a quote from the advance of his speech -- not the video that's been talked about so much and that it was the same group that attacked on 9/11. on syria, he will urge america to arm the rebels who may end up being in a position of authority there. and in egypt, he will suggest tying the $1 billion in aid we give that country to them upholding the peace treaty with israel. speaking of israel, he will say that we should be able to form a palestinian state along with israel. however, remember that popular 47% tape where he talked about people who don't pay taxes, he also talked about israel, saying that the conflict between israelis and palestinians will likely remain unsolved. we'll see what he has to say abou

something that president obama is going to tout. if you look underneath those top line numbers, we see that the rate of job growth is decelerating, not accelerating. that's a bad trend. you have a lot of people who are now counted as employed who actually took part-time jobs when they were looking for full-time jobs. and we continue to see people taking themselves out of the labor market. they're just giving up. we see manufacturing jobs now declining. so there's a lot of tough stuff underneath the headline number, but politically speaking, president obama is going to trump at the headline number, and mitt romney will try and talk about the fundamentals, and i think the facts are on governor romney's side, actually. >> so from one conspiracy to soot. we want you to listen to this. sticking with the economy and jobs, listen to what governor martin o'mally had to say about why things are not moving in the right direction. >> they want to slow the economy before the election. if you don't believe that, then i have a bridge i want to sell you in brooklyn. that is what the republican obstruction

. the obama campaign will celebrate this new national number. here's the key question heading into the battleground states, in colorado where the race has gone up, nevada where it's gone up, essentially flat in new hampshire and north carolina, how does this new national number no question good for the president play out in those states? >> john, both candidates obviously reacting to the jobs report today. governor romney saying this isn't a real recovery. we need more job growth. that's what he says. the president says it's a reminder that the country has come very far so far and he's not going to be turning back. so who's right? >> again, it depends on your perspective. the job growth is not as robust as either candidate would like. you need essentially 150,000, some economists say close to 200,000 jobs a month to keep a flat line and begin to turn the rate down more. look at some of the other data. if you look here's job creation. remember, this is the end of the bush administration, early obama administration, the economy was bleeding jobs. 800,000 jobs a month at one point. sp

september jobs report is in. and the numbers are better than expected. way better. the unemployment rate below 8% for the first time since january 2009. it's good news for president obama, after his underwhelming performance in wednesday' debate. and bad news for mitt romney, and his conspiracy-minded supporters on the republican right. more on that in a moment. according to the bureau of labor statistics, unemployment dropped to 7.8% last month down .3 of a percent since august. employers added 114,000 new jobs. including 104 in the private sector and 10,000 in the public sector which had seen months of steady decline. in july's number revised to 181,000 with an additional 40,000 new jobs. president obama shared the news with a cheering crowd at a campaign appearance in fairfax virginia. >> obama: this morning we found out that the unemployment rate had fallen to its lowest level since i office. but today's news certainly is not an excuse to try to talk down the economy to score a few political points. it's a reminder that this country has come too far to turn back now. >> eliot: not if

impressive number by president obama, and while he was, in essence, his cash on hand began to dwindle starting in may had he spent all the money on tv, this is going to get way in the weeds, but it's very important. if you're obama or romney, the money that you have in your own campaign treasury is the money most easy to spend with the biggest impact, and you're guaranteed, if you're obama or romney in getting the lowest unit rate, the lowest cost for the a tv spot buying from a tv station. outside groups like american crossroads have to pay a premium. president obama spends a dollar, we have to spend more than a dollar to get the same weight of television. a lot more of romney's money is found in the wallet of the republican national committee, and smaller money is found in the democratic national committee. what's that mean? if you use money from the democratic or republican national committees, you have to use what are are called combo ads in which you not only mention obama, but also democrats, or not just romney, but other republicans. it weakens the ad, the way of the power of t
